Unplugged Project : Painting Pumpkins

This weeks Unplugged Project was to paint pumpkins.

The kids had a super time painting them. We started with some very small white pumpkins but it did not take long until they were covered and starting to look a bit muddy so we switched over to some larger ones.

As you can see, this turned out to be pretty messy. I guess when painting something 3-dimensional the inclination is to turn it around, pick it up to paint the bottom, and whatever else you might could do to get paint ALL over your hands.

Here are the finished products:

Very nice pumpkins! You are right about the mess factor though. The baby's hands (and much of her face and neck) were covered. My 5 year-old decided to wash his pumpkin off and start again which created a huge mess!

That old table cloth saves us. It is just a cheap vinyl cloth that I have had for years. I wipe it down a bit to get the worst off, let it dry, then put it away. Highly recommended.

Thanks for participating, and I hope to see you next week!

Just like mom unplugged's kids' pumpkins: better than mine. But, as I told mom unplugged: at least mine is bigger! LOL

It looks like they really had a great time with the pumpkins- I love how multi-colored the hands are (let alone the pumpkins themselves!) in the picture.

I see you have the same paint filled brushes as us! Aren't they awesome?! I love your pumpkins too, we definitely need to go a little bigger next year. Sometimes smaller isn't better.
