This week's Unplugged Project idea was yarn or string.
I gratefully delegated this one off to my husband who included both boys in the making of a pulley. I guess I should not have been surprised they managed to incorporate their favorite toy into the picture. They used the train to power their first-class pulley. I was called when they were ready for photos.
This was inspired by a book we got from the library: Pull, Lift, and Lower by Michael Dahl.

See, now that would really fit in it at my house! We LOVE the trains 'round here! :) Whoo! Whoo!
Fun and educational! Good use of string!
That is a very clever idea, and a very original use of string! I shall have to try and find that book at our library. Sounds interesting. Happy Holidays!
It's funny to mix two things, a train and an unplugged project.
1kiss.
That looks like a fun project. I might have to try it out with the boys.
We love reading childrens non-fiction books from the library. I am learning a lot of things I did not know before and the kids seem to be learning too.
I did think it was sort of funny to use a battery operated train to operate the pulley but I still think it counts ;-)
Hi Tamara,
Thanks for your comment on my slow-loading blog, I really appreciate it since it seems fine on my computer! But I have had a couple other complaints about it, so I eliminated some sidebar stuff and simplified a bit. Is it any better?
I am trying to switch to a much simpler, minimalist-type template but there are a few glitches.
Please check what I have changed when you have time and let me know if it is better. You can email me at unplugyourkids "at" gmail "...dot.." com. Thanks!
That's very creative. Well done!
